If you feel that you have what it takes to be part of this successful team, we would love to hear from you.48 hours Contracted HrsSalary £34,000 per annumTuesday Saturday OperationKey responsibilities:Proactively manage and motivate the team and engage with colleagues to ensure the best performanceSupport and develop the performance of colleagues, where required, conducting disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings.Proactively manage and develop accident reduction initiatives and communication to help contribute to a safer work environment.Actively manage KPIs in line with customer expectations, on time delivery windows, customer service levels and voice of the customer on a daily basis.Encourage a culture of excellent customer service 'right first time' with the teamEnsure department operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and SafetyEnsure processes and procedures are adhered to throughout the operation, with focus on health and safetyEnsure sufficient resource is available to meet performance expectations, including managing recruitment and agenciesResponsible for driving high levels of employee engagement through development of colleagues, regular 1-2-1 reviews, participation in site activities etcWork closely with the warehouse and planning teamsEnsure that any performance, conduct, or capability issues are thoroughly investigated, and any required resulting actions are completed in a timely mannerMake any necessary alterations to the transport plan, providing feedback to the Planning team where requiredEnsure the smooth running of the daily deliveriesContribute to training and development of yourself and the delivery teamsMaintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory regulations, professional duties, and obligationsResponsible for Customer Facing and Dealing with Customer Challenges.The person will:An experienced Shift Manager with customer service focus within in a high-volume transport and warehouse environmentHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyExperience with a unionised workforce is beneficialGood knowledge of transport legislationEnergetic, resilient, and flexibleExcellent PC skills including Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent communication skillsWorks well under tight deadlines with a keen eye for detail and a right first-time approachSoftware experience, Kronos time management and Oracle would be an advantageAble to work shift work, including weekend working (required)Able to implement and manage changeAble to resource plan, ensure maximum use of resources in cost-effective mannerPeople line management and effective people skillsClear communication and collaboration at all levels, e.g., customers, colleagues, and direct reportsHigh level of self-awareness and takes accountability for own developmentOur Culture & BenefitsIn addition to generous remuneration, we really value our people and offer a friendly, safety-first working environment, along with other benefits including company pension scheme, generous holidays, cycle to work scheme, employee benefits include, online discount platform, onsite parking and much more.Our people are at the core of our business and what makes Wincanton great.
