  • Managing a broad caseload of commercial property matters, including sales and acquisitions, leases, landlord and tenant work, refinance, property development, and corporate support instructions.
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, leases, licences, and other commercial property documents with attention to detail and in accordance with current legislation.
  • Conducting due diligence, reviewing title documents, search reports and handling enquiries efficiently to ensure transactions progress smoothly.
  • Advising clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to larger commercial entities on the full lifecycle of commercial property transactions.
  • Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and external solicitors, maintaining high standards of professionalism and client care throughout.
  • Managing key dates, deadlines, and compliance requirements to ensure completion within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting more junior team members with training and mentoring, as appropriate.
  • Keeping up to date with legislative changes affecting commercial property transactions.
Essential Experience and Skills for Commercial Property Law Jobs
  • Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with a minimum of 3 years PQE (or equivalent experience) in commercial property law.
  • Proven experience handling a commercial property caseload, including transactions from instruction to post-completion.
  • Sound understanding of current commercial property law and market trends.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Client-focussed mindset with a track record of building positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a busy legal team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and legal case management systems.
