The school is seeking someone confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional and mental health needs.As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children within the classroom setting, working both one-to-one and in small groups to help them engage positively with learning. You will manage challenging behaviour with patience and professionalism, while acting as a positive role model at all times. A key part of your role will be to take a genuine interest in each student’s progress and well-being, providing consistent support to help them build confidence, emotional resilience, and positive relationships.This is a dedicated special school with a strong reputation for its supportive senior leadership and inclusive, nurturing environment. The school is committed to supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning difficulties.   • Salary Scale: £82.80 to £100 per day

Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant role:
  • Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Can engage children in and out of the classroom
  • Feels confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
