Cost Engineering· Gather data & carry out research on current construction costs· Measure, record & value work supervised in accordance with appropriate rules and proceduresEstimating· Seek out, locate and assemble pre and post contract documentation, complimented with the necessary administration skills.Planning· Be responsible for weekly and monthly works programmes· Awareness of different programme formatsProject Management· Use the Company's software systems· Collation of Cost and Value Information· Preparation of Cost reconciliation statementsProcurement· Collect information required to specify procurement requirements· Record and document information including registration of interest· Understand the steps / documentation requiredCommercial Management· Collation of cost and value information· Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractorsProfileWe are recruiting for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Glasgow.The ideal candidate will:· Have a good knowledge of quantity surveying duties and in the case of an Assistant QS, will have a successful track record in performing these duties· Manage the costs of the works and ensure that their part of the project meets legal and quality standards, with support from more senior members of the commercial team.· Be responsible for the effective engagement and management of our supply chain for their area of responsibility.· Already have, or are in the final stages of achieving a relevant degree.· Proactively follow the structured training programmes to achieve their professional qualifications from the RICS, ICES or CIOB· Maintain a Personal Development Plan· Maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD)· Help support the development of othersEssential criteria:· BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalentDesirable criteria:· Communication· Teamwork· Achievement Focus (Achieving Results)· Work experience· Industry knowledge· Knowledge of the role of a QSPLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM CANDIDATES WHO WILL REQUIRE VISA SPONSORSHIP TO WORK IN THE UK.Why us?Our inclusive approach is aimed creating opportunities for all of our people.
