Secondary SEN Learning Support Assistant – South BristolProtocol Education are looking for confident, caring, and proactive candidates for Learning Support Assistants to work in secondary schools across South Bristol. You’ll be supporting young people with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in the classroom.This role is open to people from all levels of experience. Maybe you’ve worked in schools before, or perhaps you bring experience from social care, youth work, or psychology studies. Whether you have experience, or you're eager to begin your career in education, what matters most is your energy, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people. If you can communicate to motivate and inspire young people, you’re already halfway there.What the job looks like:Working 1:1 or with small groups to support students with SEND needs (including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH)Helping students to integrate into lessons, breaking down tasks to make them accessibleBuilding positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and familiesCommunicating effectively with the classroom teacher, SENDCO, and wider school teamEncouraging independence, celebrating progress, and supporting behaviour positivelyKeeping accurate records of progress and concerns, and liaising with staff and outside agencies where appropriateAbout you:Confident, patient, and resilient, with a caring approachAble to work under the direction of teachers and SENDCOs, but also comfortable using your initiativeExperienced in supporting young people with additional needs (desirable, but not essential if you have transferable skills)A team player who can also take responsibility for preparing learning resources and supporting students across the school dayWhy Protocol?
