Job DescriptionFLT DriverOur client who distributes and stores home furniture and furnishings based in Market Drayton are looking for a full time, temporary to permanent FLT Driver/Warehouse person to join their busy and expanding team.You will be responsible for running of the warehouse where they will be operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, your team will be performing heavy lifting and manual handling of goods as required, the team will also deal with shipping and receiving processes, and as a manager you will be assuring the team provide accurate documentation and inventory control information whilst utilising the warehouse management system to track stock levels and manage inventory effectively.
This varied role will mean that you will oversee providing training for handling materials with care, and you be ensuring you have provided proper storage and organisation within the warehouse for your team. You will ensure that everyone is correctly loading and unloading goods from lorries, and all items are handled safely to prevent damage, also making sure picking and packing orders are accurate for dispatch.Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts is highly desirable; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic equipment maintenance is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly throughout the shift.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures is beneficial.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems for inventory tracking is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for managing stock effectively.
  • A proactive attitude towards safety practices within the workplace is required.
