
SEN Teacher

- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and complex learning needs.
- Develop and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with the SENCO, parents, and external specialists.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and interventions to support individual learning needs.
- Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school or specialist setting.
- A strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques as a Teaching Assistant,
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other specialist communication methods (desirable).
- A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
