In this role, you will support HEOR strategies and tactics for assets with a therapeutic area, ensuring our products are differentiated and bring value to our patients around the world.Position SummaryGilead’s Global Value & Access (GV&A) organization strives to improve the lives of people with life-threatening illnesses around the world by ensuring every eligible patient has access to our transformative medicines.To support this vision, GV&A’s GHEOR Center of Excellence for Economic Evaluation/HTA provides scientific expertise and consultative leadership to support best practice, rigorous scientific principles and latest methodology in execution of health economic studies. Particular areas of focus are economic modelling and evidence synthesis. This role interfaces with HEOR scientists in the therapeutic areas to develop early economic models and assess ITC feasibility which informs evidence for access research agendas.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Director, Head GHEOR, this role will:
  • With oversight and guidance from Senior Director GHEOR CoE, identify and evaluate topics of key importance for HTA applications, considering portfolio needs and business relevance.
  • Identify global HTA HEOR evidence requirements and gaps; evaluate and disseminate, white papers, methods training and best practices to optimise evidence generation, as necessary.
  • Deliver early evaluations of product reimbursement potential for the pipeline by creating early economic models and conducting early feasibility assessments for ITC/NMA.
  • Partner with TA cross-functional business partners to develop and support product value proposition to optimize access, reimbursement and uptake for assigned indication
  • Provide HEOR input into clinical development programs as necessary in partnership with HEOR TA Scientists.
  • Develop, support and maintain research relationships with Health Economics key opinion leaders (KOLs)
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of HTA requirements for reimbursement dossiers and the consequence evidence strategy needed to deliver launch package.
  • Explore ways to leverage advances in technology, including AI, to streamline or innovate existing methods and deliverables.
  • Disseminate HEOR data and study results through publications and integration into approved field tools for managed markets and payer medical science liaisons
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceWe’re seeking an analytical independent contributor with:
  • 4-6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or managed care, including at least 2 years of direct experience in HEOR
  • Knowledge of HEOR assessments and technical expertise in design and execution of HEOR studies and models
  • Familiarity with developing global and AMCP dossiers
  • Understanding of US/global healthcare systems and reimbursement processes/decision making
  • Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • M.A. or M.S. required in life sciences, epidemiology or other related discipline; Advanced degree in HEOR-related field preferred
