The school supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. Your role will be key in helping them re-engage with learning, build self-esteem, and develop the skills needed to move forward in life and education.Key Responsibilities:Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities, and positive interactionsAct as a trusted adult and role model, helping students feel safe, respected, and supportedEncourage participation in learning through inclusive, flexible, and personalised approachesProvide consistent support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategiesWork collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a structured and nurturing environmentAbout You:Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or a similar support-focused roleExperience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), SEN, or behavioural needsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young peoplePatient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine desire to help students succeedConfident in handling challenging behaviour and offering emotional and pastoral supportThis is an incredibly rewarding role where your support can make a real difference in a young person’s life.
