Neighbourhood Services are seeking a Senior Community operative on a permanent basis.This post is a critical role, ensuring the operational effectiveness of our key front-line service ensuring excellent performance is upheld and working practices are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
  • As a result, we are looking for a proactive and innovative individual who has an eye for detail and has suitable operational background experience in a Street Cleansing and Horticultural field.
  • The successful candidate will have a Can do, positive attitude to problem solving and strive to demonstrate council values and focus on outcomes for the community.
Your primary duty will be to oversee the Scunthorpe based grounds maintenance service ensuring our green spaces are well kept, using state of the art innovation to our integrated weed plan driving a reduction in the use of chemical treatments. In addition, you will take responsibility for large scale traffic management projects for the purpose of deep cleansing and vegetation works this may include operationally supervising a team undertaking litter picking, maintaining community bins and responding to customer reports of Flytipping, sharps and other hazardous waste.This role is physically demanding, involves heavy lifting, walking considerable distances and working in all weather conditions whilst operating plant machinery on the highway.
