Salary: £51,000 - £60,000 per annumSanctuary Personnel are excited to present a rewarding opportunity for an Oncology Day Unit Manager to join a prestigious healthcare facility located in Hove, on a full-time permanent basis.Role OverviewIn this role, you will be responsible for delivering exemplary planned care to cancer patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT). As a lead specialist in SACT, you will provide specialised education, conduct research, and oversee audits in the field of cancer care. Your primary focus will be to ensure the team delivers high-quality care while adhering to safety standards, providing both clinical and managerial leadership. Additionally, you will offer guidance and support to department staff and assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing the healthcare environment effectively.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess health and wellbeing needs within SACT/cancer services and develop corresponding practices
  • Effectively communicate complex, sensitive, or contentious information across cancer services
  • Cultivate a working environment that prioritises health, safety, and security
  • Enhance quality and safety compliance within the department
  • Champion equality, diversity, and rights, fostering an inclusive environment
  • Optimise the use of physical and financial resources
  • Contribute to research and development activities within cancer services
  • Monitor and assure the application of technology for measurement, monitoring, and treatment
  • Oversee the oncology/chemotherapy service, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators and efficient departmental operations
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for the oncology service, including attracting Consultants
  • Foster collaboration with external partners to ensure standardisation and resource sharing
  • Embed Clinical Governance and risk management practices in daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organisational policies regarding patient information
Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse with a strong background in oncology/chemotherapy, preferably in a day case chemotherapy setting
  • Recognised qualification and competency in delivering SACT
  • Recognised or working towards qualification in Independent prescribing
  • Evidence of significant post-registration continuous professional development in management and clinically related cancer studies
