We are actively seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Data Scientist to become an integral part of our growing Data Science team within the Asset Management Insight department, situated in the Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery directorate.As a pivotal member of our closely-knit team, you will not only contribute to the expansion of our data science capabilities, but also drive innovation by actively engaging in and pursuing diverse asset management projects, around the directorate.Your role is crucial in harnessing the power of data to advance our asset management strategies, ensuring the optimisation of processes, for achieving our important performance commitments for customers and the environment, and strengthening overall efficiency at Affinity Water. Collaborating with a small team of skilled data analysts and scientists, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data-driven solutions to address challenges in the water sector.As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for a range of key accountabilities that drive innovation and excellence in data science. We're seeking an individual who not only brings technical expertise, but also promotes a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Your role will involve cultivating the knowledge base within our team, supporting your colleagues, and sharing skills to enhance collective proficiency.You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing machine learning models, supported by your prior experience in data science. These models will not only ensure the health of our assets, but also contribute to environmental sustainability, and enhance the overall customer experience at Affinity Water.You will translate loosely defined problems and perspectives from multiple stakeholders, into tangible outcomes, driving innovation and efficiency across the organisation.Furthermore, as a forward-thinker, you'll contribute to establishing a robust and expansive data science initiative within our wider directorate. Your strategic insights and hands-on approach will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of our data-driven initiatives.
  • Analyse complex asset datasets, revealing trends and patterns for informed decision-making.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models for asset health maturity and optimisation.
  • Contribute to the automation of data processing to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and create data-driven solutions.
  • Turn diverse loosely defined problems and perspectives of multiple stakeholders into innovative solutions.
  • Foster a culture of originality and knowledge sharing within the team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. Or equivalent experience in relevant field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis/science with model development.
  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker).
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other coding languages.
  • Experience with business analytics platforms such as Qlik.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and create data-driven solutions. Turn diverse perspectives of multiple stakeholders into innovative solutions.
  • Self-motivate and keep informed with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related technologies.
