- Developing and maintaining the relationships with key technical groups in the Energy industry.
- Overseeing the Energy lab activities, coordinating internal and external testing requests.
- Being the first point of contact at the working level and representing BP Lubes technology at the OEMs’ technical centres.
- Work with OEMs to understand equipment design and application principles, in order to develop insights into the OEM’s needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to work with the OEMs in support of the BP Lubricants business strategy.
- Presenting technical data to the OEMs to support an ongoing technical dialogue and to support product approval applications.
- Being the first point of contact for the product development (PD) teams on OEM trends, strategies etc., and viewed as the subject matter expert
- Develop lubricant technology offers in conjunction with the responsible PD teams and support the BP businesses and be able to strongly influence OEMs to engage in such technology offers.
- Maintain and support the BP approval process to make sure that the required approvals can be achieved in minimum turnaround times in support of the marketing activities.
- Manage OEM approvals records relating to BP lubricant products.
- Liaise with various cross-functional teams (regional technology, regional marketing, regional business) to make sure that BP’s product range is compliant to OEM’s and BP’s integrity rules
- Representing BP on relevant Industry Networks, as required.
- Forge strong links with functions within the GME Operating Unit, such as Sales and customer-facing Technical teams. Support GME to deploy industry-leading products and services to our customers.
- Influence our future technology strategy by providing input to product roadmaps and research activities.
- Develop and share expertise to facilitate continuous improvement with relevant teams, e.g. design and implementation of bespoke test methodology, peer review and engineering advice to support the team.
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related science subject.
- Credibility to represent bp/Castrol technology within the OEMs
- Extensive experience of presenting technology to third parties
- A proven track record of building relationships and networks

- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience of lubricant product development or deployment, with specific experience relating to the GME Energy product range.
- Knowledge of oil and gas infrastructure and associated lubricant products e.g. subsea production systems, subsea control systems, subsea control fluids, offshore hardware and architecture.
- Knowledge of offshore products and applications e.g. subsea oil and gas production systems, subsea control systems, etc.
- Understanding of global environmental legislation applicable to offshore and marine lubricants e.g. REACH, OSPAR, etc.
