Assistant Accountant
Location: Lancashire (3 days on-site, flexible hybrid working)

Guided by their values, they put people at the heart of everything they do – and now they are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their supportive Finance team.This is an excellent opportunity for:A recent graduate in Accounting & Finance seeking your first role in the sector.Someone who has already started their AAT qualifications and is looking for long-term training, development, and career progression.With full study support and structured development, this role is the perfect platform to grow into a confident finance professional.What you’ll be doing:Working closely with our Management Accountant, you’ll play a key part in supporting the month-end process and wider finance function. Typical responsibilities will include:Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accountsPosting journals, accruals, and prepaymentsReconciling control accounts and bank accountsAssisting with budget monitoring and variance analysisSupporting the production of financial reports for managers and stakeholdersMaintaining accurate financial records in line with audit and compliance requirementsProviding day-to-day support across the finance team as requiredWhat we’re looking for:A degree in Accounting & Finance or part-qualified AAT with ambitions to continue studiesStrong numeracy skills with attention to detailA proactive approach and willingness to learnGood IT skills, particularly Excel and finance systemsA values-driven team player who is passionate about making a differenceWhat is on offer:Competitive salary of £26,000 – £31,000 (dependent on experience)Full study support to complete your professional qualifications25 days annual leave, plus additional Christmas closureCSR days to give back to the communitySubsidised car parkingA supportive, people-focused working culture where your growth matters * Defined pension schemeIf you’re ready to begin or continue your career in finance within a supportive, community-focused Housing Association, we’d love to hear from you.
