£600m) to extend the life of a critical energy asset.The successful candidate will support the Project Director in managing multi-disciplinary teams, external contractors, and key stakeholders to deliver this complex refurbishment programme safely, on time, and to budget.Purpose of the Role:
- Provide leadership and coordination across technical, commercial, and operational workstreams.
- Manage interfaces between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver major capital projects.
- Ensure effective planning, risk management, and execution of key project deliverables.
- Lead and manage project workstreams from contract negotiation to delivery and handover phases.
- Deputise for the Project Director as required.
- Ensure compliance with project KPIs, scope, budget, and programme milestones.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead on Health & Safety strategy at project level.
- Oversee project risks, opportunities, and governance reporting.
- Support project resourcing, team building, and stakeholder engagement.
- Significant experience managing major engineering projects
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation (FIDIC contract experience advantageous).
- Track record of delivering projects safely, to time, and within budget.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and risk management skills.
- Chartered Engineer status and a Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- APMP Practitioner or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification).
