
Consultant Neurologist

- Deliver high-quality general neurology services across Somerset
- Develop and lead a subspecialty service in your area of expertise
- Provide outpatient care across multiple hospital sites
- Take part in inpatient neurology care at Musgrove Park Hospital, including ward referrals
- Work closely with a diverse MDT to deliver seamless patient care
- Engage in teaching, research, and clinical trials supported by the Clinical Research Network
- Participate in the duty neurologist rota, which ensures a dedicated inpatient focus with no outpatient clinics scheduled during duty weeks
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- CCT in Neurology (or within six months of completion at the time of interview)
- Subspecialty expertise (epilepsy preferred), experience in teaching & research.
- Ability to work independently as a general neurologist
- Commitment to teamwork, patient care, and service development
- Ability to prioritise clinical need
- Ability to effectively organise oneself and own work
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit
- Ability to take a lead in developing/managing a clinical area
- Demonstrate wide awareness of issues in health care
- Understanding of NHS, clinical governance & resource constraints; management/financial awareness; experience of committee work
- Active involvement in audit with demonstration of improved outcomes/change
