The Role:Are you an experienced Project Designer looking for your next challenge? This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead a variety of innovative design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes every time. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping designs with circularity, tooling and production processes in mind, while also contributing creatively yourself.Based in Sawtry, this is a full-time, permanent position within a forward-thinking organisation that has an excellent reputation in its sector. With plenty of scope for development, this is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about both design and project management.Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage design projects to meet industry standards
  • Oversee project lead times, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage and mentor the Design team, including conducting annual reviews.
  • Act as a key liaison with stakeholders and external customers.
  • Carry out project reviews and lead design meetings.
  • Organise and participate in technical reviews with customers.
  • Provide guidance on design for tooling, manufacturing, and production efficiency.
  • Design components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Support tooling development and attend tool trials when required.
  • Collaborate with sales, tooling, and production departments to deliver customer projects.
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong background in design and project management.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
  • Experience designing with tooling, manufacturing, and production in mind.
  • Ability to manage and mentor design teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards
