Job Description:At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for an Internal Auditor. Leonardo is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy,Leonardo has over 45,000 employees, of which 8,000 are based in the UK.The Internal Auditor role involves working closely with the Head of Internal Audit UK and other members of the Leonardo UK Internal Audit Functions (in UK and Group Internal Audit Italy) to plan and complete audits across all processes of the business.Internal Auditors also help to advise senior management on various aspects of risk control and recommend appropriate solutions to improve operational effectiveness.This role will focus on conducting audits on subjects that are included in the Internal Audit 3 year plan. It will also include some Law 262/05 functional testing on Company process controls that cover functional risks and fraud risks. Support other auditors to achieve goals.With a home base on one of the main Leonardo UK Business Unit sites (Basildon, Bristol, Edinburgh, Luton, Southampton, Yeovil), the role will involve some national travel and occasional international travel.This role will provide an excellent opportunity to broaden business awareness and interface with management across all UK sites.Key Responsibility Areas
  • Strong Stakeholder management
  • Planning audit activities
  • Conducting audit interviews and obtaining relevant evidences
  • Creating, negotiating and agreeing the report of findings
  • Follow up of outstanding audit actions
  • Some Law 262 / SOX testing (on job training will be given)
  • Analysis and interpretation of relevant data
  • Assisting other auditors in the achievement of audit activities
  • Assisting in the generation of reports

  • Strong Stakeholder management
  • Strong Team player
  • Able to manage competing demands on time
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong interpersonal / interview skills
  • Excellent written English
  • Meeting management skills (organise, chair, record, action)
  • Good / Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desirable
  • Educated to a degree level or hold a professional qualification
  • Previous experience of auditing, Law 262 / SOX or other compliance related activity
  • Understanding of business / financial processes
  • Driving licence for UK assignments.
