- Implement the Quality Assurance & Control Strategy under the direction of the Head of Quality
- Ensure a robust Quality management system is in place and maintain all processes and procedures required for quality delivery in the region.
- Provide training on the management system and quality awareness and development assistance to the wider regional team
- Provide all suitably qualified and experienced quality resource to the region as required to support the safe, on time and on budget delivery.
- Ensure the right people, with right skills and experience at the right time to optimise overall regional performance considering both technical and behavioural competence
- Support the Head of Quality in assigning roles and responsibilities for all quality personnel aligned to the wider regional organisation
- Support the Head of Quality in ensuring the quality resource implications of the schedule are clearly understood with a plan in place to provide suitable resource at the right time, including succession planning & development of quality talent
- Support the Head of Quality in identifying future resourcing needs and ensure that training plans and succession are aligned to the regional requirements
- Feed into the preparation and implementation of the regional Audit Schedule
- Conduct audits of project activities and subcontractor operations, both on and off site, in accordance with the regional Audit Schedule
- Support the assessment of Supply Chain partners prior and during project delivery
- Ensure robust, transparent & credible information is in place to provide an accurate understanding of quality performance across the region
- Assist with resolution of any quality-related issues arising and make informed decisions on their resolution
- Share learning and best practice across the quality function, incorporate learning from Balfour Beatty and other key stakeholders, and capture lessons learned to support innovation and promote continual improvement across the region
- Manage timely handover of records, including establish the handover Strategy
- Support the Head of Quality in establishing appropriate Key Performance Indicators and work towards meeting them consistently
- Support the delivery of Regional Strategic Objectives
- Be a role model, and hold self and others accountable for the behaviours, processes approach that support collaborative working across the Region
- Build relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure that the collaborative culture and standards established are effectively deployed and extended within the quality team
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure procurement aspects of regional delivery meet agreed timescales

- Prior Quality experience and/or relevant operational / technical experience to meet industry sector demands
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction or Manufacturing (relevant industry)
- MCQI registered or working towards it
- Knowledge of ISO9000 Terminology
- ISO9001 Lead Auditor
- Awareness of Root Cause Analysis principles and techniques
- KPI development and Performance Reviews
- Understanding of handover of works
- Understanding of Change Management
- Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology e.g. Office 365
- Awareness and understanding of quality and/or technical standards
- Awareness on Information Management
- Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
- Good time management
- Has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts
- Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner
- Has good interpersonal and communication skills
