A well-established independent high-street optical practice is seeking an experienced Practice Manager or Dispensing Optician with strong commercial awareness and a proven track record in driving performance. This is a high-energy, fast-paced environment offering a real opportunity to take ownership and lead from the front.Key Responsibilities
- Lead a busy, high-performing practice delivering 65+ eye tests per week
- Manage a close-knit team of 4–5, working alongside an on-site optometrist five days a week
- Oversee five clinics weekly, ensuring operational efficiency and excellent patient flow
- Be a visible, hands-on leader on the shop floor
- Drive sales through expert dispensing, effective customer engagement, and upselling
- Handle day-to-day operations, staff development, performance tracking, and admin duties
- Qualified Dispensing Optician or experienced Practice Manager
- Target-driven with strong sales and KPI focus
- Confident leader with excellent communication and team-building skills
- Thrives in high-volume, NHS-focused settings
- High level of dispensing knowledge and retail floor presence
- Self-motivated, proactive, and commercially aware
- Able to make an immediate impact with minimal training
