After full training completion, top pay rate will be provided.The role of a Bakery Operative is to Safely and efficiently operate and optimise bakery plant and equipment. Working with others, achieve high levels of targeted performance, customer satisfaction and quality standards; this will be founded on a culture of continuous improvement, development and learning. It is expected that the jobholder will positively contribute to an environment where critical thinking and constructive challenging is the norm.Full Time, Permanent Role
Working 42 hours per week in average on 4 on / 4 off basis (2 days, 2 night shifts followed by 4 days off).
12-hour shifts.Key Accountabilities-Operate semi-automated Baking Machines-To deliver product quality through all systems available and others-To contribute to the optimization of a production plan, operating the production plant in the most efficient and cost-effective manner-Ensure that their own and their teams development and training needs are identified and processes are consistently applied. Participate in the proactive environment of learning through relevant documentation (learning logs & 1:1 communications)-To continuously challenge and improve manufacturing processes and encourage others to do the same-To actively participate and contribute to the optimisation of cross-functional working processes and procedures, which will enable bakery infrastructure standards to be maintained or improvedAdditional AccountabilitiesThere is an expectation that any employee within AB demonstrates a flexible and can do approach to their work and may on occasion be required to take part in other areas of the business, to provide resource and expertise as required but also to give the individual opportunity to develop their own skill base and broader knowledge.The Right PersonEssential-Ability to demonstrate basic mechanical empathy-Computer Literate (understand and interact with HMI screens )-Demonstrate a good level of Health and Food Safety awareness-Numerical, reading and information recording skills.Advantageous-An in-depth understanding and application of food hygiene/GMP/(ABSS standards)-Understanding of baking process-NVQ Level 1 or Level 2 in Performing Mechanical Engineering,-Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2) IOSH or equivalent-Basic understanding of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques (EG: Fishbone, 5 Why's, 5s etc)-Fault finding skillsOur defining value is to 'Be the best we can be'; the behaviors that we believe help us to do this and are key to our success are: Aim high, I do what I say, Work Together and Everybody Matters.We are committed to equal treatment and opportunities for all our people and believe in building a diverse and inclusive organisation that represents our communities and generates the best outcomes for consumers, customers and stakeholders.
