
Maintenance Technician

- Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, ensuring all work complies with current legislation and safety standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and execute preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Automated Systems Oversight: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot automated conveyance systems, SCADA, and industrial control systems to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain compliance records, and ensure all maintenance work aligns with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Spares & Inventory Management: Track spare parts usage and ensure critical components are readily available to prevent operational delays.
- Contractor & Project Coordination: Liaise with external contractors for specialised repairs, supervise work, and ensure necessary permits and risk assessments are in place.
- Process Improvement & Cost Control: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, drive efficiency improvements, and support LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Material Flow & Uptime: Collaborate with operational managers to ensure seamless material flow, maximise plant productivity, and reduce downtime.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work outside standard hours during peak periods or urgent maintenance situations.
- Experience in a maintenance, engineering, or technical role within an automated, fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, with knowledge of automated systems, SCADA, PLCs, or similar industrial controls.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance strategies and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, ideally with an IOSH qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, promoting a positive work environment.
- Experience in project management or leading maintenance improvements is a plus.
