Job descriptionSEN SPECIALIST OUTREACH TUTOR – HaveringABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYProspero Teaching is looking for a highly experienced SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with complex needs who are currently not attending school in the Havering area.This is an ideal role for a dedicated and skilled tutor who has experience working with students in PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings or SEN schools, and who is passionate about re-engaging learners through personalised, engaging lessons. Pupils may present with a range of challenges, including behavioural difficulties, ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.We are particularly interested in tutors who are ABA-trained, Team Teach-trained, and confident in managing a range of SEN presentations in a calm, structured, and supportive manner.As an Outreach Tutor, you will be responsible for creating and delivering targeted 1:1 sessions that help to bridge gaps in learning, improve engagement, and build confidence. Many of these students have been out of education for an extended period, so building trust and routine is a vital part of the role.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Contract type – Temporary
  • Full time/part time – Part-time (10 to 15 hours per week)
  • Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
  • Hours – Flexible; minimum 1 hour per session and up to 3 hours per session
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a UK school or PRU/SEN setting
  • Experience with complex SEN needs
  • ABA and/or Team Teach training (highly desirable)
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
  • Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years
