- Recognised and registered EITB, City & Guilds, modern apprenticeship, NVQ level 4 or approved equivalent training in Electrical/Engineering
- NC/HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience within the required technical disciplines (e.g., small power, lighting, emergency lighting, standby power systems, BMS, nurse call systems etc.).
- Able to complete work records.
- Able to undertake work from experience, manuals, drawings or instruction as appropriate
- Ability to assess situations and complete work effectively.
- Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to make difficult decisions
- Ability to prioritise competing demands
- Able to work without supervision.
- BS 7671: IET wiring regulations.
- Safety standards and procedures.
- Multi-skilled in electrical practices and systems.
- Electrical power and lighting systems
- Data wiring systems
- Refrigeration systems
- Some allied trades.
- Working in an acute hospital environment.
- Knowledge of HTM's, HBN's and Estates specific including HTM 06-02: Electrical safety guidance for low voltage systems
- Good knowledge of energy efficient working practices within engineering
