Principal Engineer

- Primarily execute, guide and review analysis and design work for dynamic structures, interpreting results to form sound engineering judgements and recommendations in one or more of the following fields; Fixed and Floating Offshore Wind moorings, anchors and cables (primary focus) and other decarbonisation technologies (wave energy converters, seawater intake risers and more)
- Apply knowledge of numerical analysis techniques including finite element analysis (FEA) and dynamic analysis of structures
- Liaise with clients and the 2H team to solve problems and establish viable solutions for systems configuration and operation
- Prepare and review project technical documentation including presentations, reports and specifications
- Participate in and lead meetings and presentations to clients
- Support business development activities and represent 2H at conferences, expos and seminars
- Minimum 2:1 Masters degree in relevant engineering degree (mechanical, civil, ocean, hydrodynamics, structural)
- Minimum 6-8 years' experience in the offshore energy industry
- Track record of undertaking either moorings, anchors and cables analysis, riser analysis, conductor analysis, installation analysis or similar in OrcaFlex or Flexcom
- Capability to oversee and review complex dynamic analysis based design work, interpreting results to form sound engineering judgements and recommendations
- Ability and enthusiasm to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation
- Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms, with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Desire and ambition to achieve both technical and personal excellence by committing to personal and professional development
- Preferably chartered or seeking to become chartered
