SEN Support Assistant – Visual Impairments / Braille | West YorkshireLocation: West Yorkshire (flexible)
Daily Rate: £95–£110/day | Contract: Full-time, term-time | Start Date: ASAPWe are seeking an experienced SEN Support Assistant to work with pupils who have visual impairments, including those who use Braille or other specialist access methods. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting pupils with sensory needs to make a meaningful impact in education.Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with visual impairmentsAssist pupils in accessing curriculum content using Braille, large print, or assistive technologySupport mobility, orientation, and independence skillsCollaborate with teachers, VI specialists, and therapists to implement individual learning plansPromote social, emotional, and academic development in a structured, inclusive environmentRequirements:Experience supporting pupils with visual impairments in school, specialist provision, or care settingsKnowledge of Braille, assistive technology, or other visual impairment strategiesFull DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, during school hoursPatience, empathy, and excellent communication skillsDesirable:
  • Full UK driving license

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
