- Support and Motivate the Team - You’ll work closely with the Transport Manager to lead and energise the transport team, ensuring staff and assets are used to their full potential. Your focus will be on driving performance, improving efficiency, and delivering outstanding service to our customer.
- Lead Daily Operations - You’ll take ownership of day-to-day transport activities, including dispatch, debriefs, and managing work in progress. You’ll be the go-to person for resolving issues quickly and keeping everything on track.
- Collaborate on Planning - Working alongside the planner, you’ll help shape daily and weekly transport plans, ensuring resources are aligned with demand and that we’re always one step ahead.
- Customer-Facing Leadership - You’ll build strong working relationships with our customer’s on-site team, acting as a key point of contact to ensure smooth communication and seamless operations.
- Driver Management & Debriefs - You’ll manage and support drivers throughout their shifts, conducting meaningful debriefs and ensuring vehicles and routes are used efficiently. You’ll help maximise productivity while maintaining high standards of compliance and safety.
- Reporting & Recommendations - You’ll provide regular updates to the Transport Manager, sharing insights on customer performance, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Your input will help shape strategic decisions.
- Health & Safety Champion - You’ll monitor and audit health and safety standards across the operation, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and full compliance with regulations.
- Communication Hub - Whether it’s face-to-face, over the phone, or via email, you’ll be a key point of contact for queries and updates—keeping everyone informed and aligned.
- KPI & Data Support - You’ll assist in producing daily statistics and performance metrics, helping the team stay focused on targets and continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Breakdown Support - You’ll support compliance planning and respond to breakdowns, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to service.
- Team Culture & Collaboration - You’ll promote a positive, supportive team culture—offering help, sharing knowledge, and working together to achieve shared goals.
- Previous experience working in a transport environment, including knowledge of working time directive and EU driver’s hours.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Critical attention to detail and ability to meet daily deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Competitive Salary: £30,000pa - £33,000pa (Days) £33,000pa - £35,000pa (Nights), Depending on experience/hours!
- Hours: 06:00hrs – 18:00hrs or 18:00 – 06:00 based on a 4on 4off shift basis.
- Overtime: May be required. This will be paid at an hourly rate.
