- Attend and participate in Child in Need planning meetings.
- Develop, implement, and review Child in Need care plans in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Identify and coordinate necessary resources and services to achieve planned outcomes within agreed timescales.
- Assess developmental needs and progress of the child, ensuring outcomes are sufficiently met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including detailed notes from six-weekly visits and both announced and unannounced visits.
- Work with children and families under supervision orders, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
- Ensure child protection and looked after children processes are in place.
- Seek legal advice for the extension of supervision orders or care orders as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments.
- Perform Section 47 Child Protection investigations and joint investigations with the police.
- Write and submit statements, Section 7, and Section 37 reports for court proceedings, representing the authority and providing evidence as required.
- Implement and review Care Plans, including supervision of contact between children and their families.
- Convene and chair core group meetings, write case conference reports, and attend case conferences and strategy meetings.
- Liaise with other professionals to ensure coordinated and effective child protection efforts.
- Initiate and manage care proceedings, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
