Full-Time Art & Design Teacher – Secondary School in Basingstoke, HampshireGSL Education are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a creative and committed Art & Design Teacher to join a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This full-time position is set to begin in September or October 2025, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful probation period.We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators who are passionate about inspiring students through artistic expression and design thinking.Responsibilities of an Art & Design Teacher:
  • Deliver engaging and imaginative Art & Design lessons to secondary school students.
  • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage creativity and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support artistic growth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a dynamic and supportive school culture.
  • Participate in school exhibitions, workshops, and extracurricular activities that promote the arts.
  • Stay current with developments in art education and integrate contemporary practices into teaching.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong passion for teaching Art & Design and nurturing student creativity.
  • Experience teaching Art & Design at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to student well-being and academic success.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to working with staff and students.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
