The RoleAs a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.This role is for 40 hours per week, working on a 2-week rolling rota. The shift patterns will be discussed during screening.About the Client & Your ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a compassionate and respectful male Personal Care Assistant to support a disabled individual with significant care needs. The role involves providing personal care, assistance with daily living and support with minor medical tasks. Strong English communication skills are essential.The responsibilities of this role include:
  • Supporting with everyday personal care such as assisting with bathing, washing, dressing and personal hygiene needs.
  • Mobility assistance including transfers, the use of mobility aids and accompanying to appointments and outings.
  • Administering medications as prescribed and assisting with other minor medical tasks.
  • Household tasks such as light domestic duties (laundry, cleaning) and organising personal belongings.
  • Engaging in respectful and meaningful conversations, offering companionship, encouragement and emotional support, ensuring dignity and respect are always at the centre of the care you provide.
RequirementsTraining & SupportWe provide comprehensive, paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:
  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • First Aid / Food Hygiene / Health & Safety
  • Personal Care / Catheter Care
  • Colostomy - Stoma Care / Gastrostomy Care / Pressure Area Care
  • Medication / Meds via PEG
  • Nebuliser / Oral Suction
  • Moving & Handling with Hoist
  • Physiotherapy / Sepsis
  • Communication
