
Systems Engineer

- Contribute to the technical aspects of customer requirements and generate input for project plans, system specifications, and product documentation
- Engage in test management concerning the engineering project, including effort, cost, and task management
- Create test specifications and test plans for integration and system testing
- Participate in development reviews, including peer and technical reviews
- Test and validate systems and software, including customer acceptance events such as FAT, HAT, and SAT
- Support systems and software engineers in debugging and root cause analysis of deviations and problems
- Conduct configuration repair and testing of customer returned items as necessary
- Experience in test and integration planning of complex systems
- Proficiency in building, configuring, and diagnosing faults in PC-based systems and networking
- Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, SVN, MS Office, Visio, and JIRA
- Capability to work as part of an agile development team (SCRUM)
- Knowledge of software and systems development principles, design patterns, and best practices
- Experience with publish-subscribe middleware architectures, such as DDS
- Expertise in configuring and testing network infrastructure, including switching, routing, encryption, security, optimisation, VLANs, and VMs
- Ability to create software test and deployment utilities using high-level languages/scripting, e.g., Python
- Experience in testing marine electronics systems, including radar systems, electronic chart systems, navigation aids, and steering control systems
- Knowledge of naval systems integration standards and practices
- ISTQB certification at the foundation level
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
