Rare opportunity for a Site Purchasing Manager with heavy engineering experience, at a large manufacturing site in North Birmingham. Great salary, benefits and career prospects. Monday to Friday 8.00 – 4.30.This site is part of a global recycling / packaging manufacturing group offering unparalled stability, future growth and career opportunities.Working within the UK purchasing team, the Site Purchasing Manager will lead the local purchasing department to identify and deliver cost savings in accordance with the Purchasing strategies to include:
  • Assisting with the implementation of a category management approach.
  • Utilising SAP MRP to manage inventoried spare parts.
  • Day to day supervision of the purchasing team.
  • Conversion of Purchase orders in accordance with the purchasing policy.
  • Sourcing non-stock engineering parts.
  • Implementing service contracts as required by the business.
  • SAP MM key user for the plant.
  • Using efficient stock control measures to manage the central stores to ensure security of parts, optimum working capital overhead and a high level of stock accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience for Maintenance Manager Mechanical;Essential
  • MCIPS or working towards
  • Purchasing experience gained from heavy industry / manufacturing
  • MRP experience
  • Building stakeholder relationships
  • SAP knowledge / qualification

  • People management experience
  • Contracts experience
  • Supplier Management
