Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)Location: WalsallDuration: Full time, on-goingSalary: £90 - 120 per dayThe School/role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join an Ofsted rated 'Good' SEMH school in Walsall. This role is particularly suited for an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting children aged 4 to 16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in providing academic and emotional support to students, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at supporting SEMH needs, delivering interventions and managing challenging behaviour.If you're interested in this role, then contact Will at Balfor on 0121 260 0000 or email your CV to will@balfor.co.ukKey Responsibilities:Curriculum Support:Assist teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons, ensuring the effective reinforcement of learning objectives.
Lead small group sessions or interventions to address individual learning needs.Individualised Student Support:Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.
Provide targeted support to students, addressing both academic and social-emotional goals.Behaviour Management:Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching and behavior support staff to address challenging behaviors and promote positive alternatives.Assessment and Feedback:Contribute to the assessment process by assisting in the collection and analysis of student progress data.
Offer constructive feedback to students to enhance their academic and personal growth.Social and Emotional Development:Support the development of students' social skills, independence, and self-motivation.
Encourage a positive school culture that emphasizes respect, empathy, and understanding.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with teaching staff, support professionals, and external agencies to create a collaborative support network.
Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to student development.Qualifications and Skills:Recognized qualification as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team.Education and Training:Minimum of Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent.
