Job descriptionProspero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our client specialist school in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, supporting students aged 5 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Condition and a range of behavioural needs.This is a position for someone who can take initiative, lead interventions, and model positive behaviour strategies, while nurturing each student’s confidence, learning, and independence.What You’ll Be Doing:Supporting the teaching team by delivering pre-planned lessons and activitiesLeading small group sessions and 1:1 interventions tailored to students’ individual needsUsing structured behavioural support strategies to help pupils regulate and thriveContributing to planning and assessment alongside class teachers and SEN specialistsModelling inclusive practice and supporting other classroom staff where neededHelping create a calm, consistent, and engaging learning environmentBuilding trusting relationships with pupils to foster social and emotional growthWhat We’re Looking For:Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including autism and behavioural challengesConfidence leading learning activities and managing a classroom environmentStrong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour support, and child developmentA patient, resilient, and collaborative approach to working in a SEN settingLevel 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience (HLTA status preferred)GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/Level 4 or aboveKey Details:Location: Lyndhurst, HampshireRole: Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant (Temp to Perm)Hours: Mon-Tue 08:30-16:30, Wed-Thu 08:30-16:00, Fri 08:30-15:00Term Time: 39 weeks per yearPay: From £16 per hourStart Date: FlexibleEssential Requirements:Right to work in the UKEnhanced child barred list DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)Two professional references from recent educational or childcare settingsIf you’re ready to bring your skills, empathy, and energy to a setting where you’re truly valued, we’d love to hear from you.Send your CV to us today and take the next step in your HLTA career.Contract/Position Details:About ProsperoProud to be listed in the Times as one of 'The Best Companies To Work For', Prospero Teaching is an innovative and forward-thinking recruitment agency.
