
Tunnelling Agent

- Manage daily tunnelling operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
- Supervise and coordinate with Engineers, Foremen, Subcontractors, and Specialist suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Oversee production and approval of method statements, ITPs, and risk assessments.
- Liaise with the Design and Temporary Works teams to ensure constructability and technical compliance.
- Attend and lead site meetings, reporting progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Tunnelling Agent or Senior Engineer on major civil engineering or tunnelling projects (preferably SCL, TBM, or shaft works).
- Background working with Tier 1 or JV contractors on infrastructure projects.
- Valid CSCS card and SMSTS/SSSTS.
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of temporary works, tunnel logistics, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Previous experience on large-scale rail/infrastructure schemes.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and construction management systems.
