A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our dedicated and enthusiastic Science Department at a thriving secondary school in the Grimsby area.About the Role:As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our teaching staff and ensuring the smooth running of practical science lessons. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals, and materials for laboratory lessons.
- Assisting teachers and students during experiments, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Maintaining and organising the science laboratories, including equipment management and stock control.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Supporting the department with administrative duties as required.
- Previous experience working as a Science Technician or a similar role (though full training can be provided).
- A strong understanding of the scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a practical knowledge of lab procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for students.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., A-levels in Science or equivalent; a degree in a scientific subject is desirable).
