Chartered Bridge EngineerWe’re looking for a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team, supporting a range of high-profile infrastructure projects for Transport Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of Scotland’s trunk road network.Role Overview
  • Contract Length: 6 months
  • Working Pattern: 3 days per week on-site
  • Locations: Various project sites across Scotland, with design hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen
  • Rate: £50-£55 per hour (umbrella) – negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver robust and technically sound engineering solutions for bridges and related structures
  • Lead and support junior engineers and technicians
  • Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with clients and attend project meetings
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in bridge or structural engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE) – essential
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management practices
  • Ability to work independently and lead small project teams
