- Develop and execute own business development strategy and targeting approach for pharmaceutical and biotech companies
- Meet and exceed individual and sales objectives, including revenue, gross profit and growth goals
- Effectively identify, profile and research potential clients to formulate target list with associated action plans including strategic priorities
- Utilise network, referrals, cold calling, etc to prospect new business targets
- Add qualified prospects to sales pipeline in Customer Relationship Management [CRM] and Opportunity Pipeline accordingly
- Deliver capability presentations, effectively communicating full-service offerings and differentiators
- Understand client’s development strategies and translate into added value and ethical solutions
- Negotiate contracts/budgets and terms with clients ensuring profitability is ethically maximised, coordinating internally with key stakeholders
- Track and report on the status of proposal components
- Work alongside Account Managers to prepare proposals, ensure client satisfaction and oversight of timely delivery of services
- Provide escalation support within client’s organisation or Clinigen as appropriate
- Gather useful information from customer and competitor data/news/trends to assess business and opportunity impact
- Review market dynamics to suggest and support the development or improvement of potential service offerings
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop and execute marketing plan and materials
- Attend conferences and networking events as required
- To build strong relationships with all clients through effective personal networking
- To provide the highest standards of service and ethical solutions and to therefore position Clinigen CTS as our clients partner of choice
- To ensure all inquiries are responded to within agreed client service level expectation/SLA’s
- To regularly update clients on Group and Division strategies and capabilities
- To understand and exceed client value drivers and performance expectations
- To be accountable for minimum required BD activity levels e.g. client appointments per month
- To liaise with client study team and account management to manage enquiries and understand upcoming requirement pipeline
- 10+ years’ experience of working within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry
- 5+ years’ experience in the clinical trial services sector in a sales environment
- Demonstrable record of consistently exceeding quotas for the last 3 years
- Ability to target, sell and develop business at multiple levels within large, mid-sized and/or emerging pharma organisations
- Entrepreneurial/Innovative approach to business/sales
- Ability to operate independently
- Customer-focused with strong communication and presentation skills
- Highly computer literate; experience operating with all Microsoft Office software
