  • Deliver engaging and practical Carpentry sessions that inspire and motivate learners.
  • Embed employability skills, digital literacy, and reading into vocational teaching.
  • Manage tools and equipment safely and securely, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, literacy levels, and additional learning needs.
  • Promote restorative practices to maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Work schedule: Full time, 5 days per weekSalary scale: Up to £35,000 per annumBenefits:

Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach. This role will not be for everyone, but anyone with a slight interest is encouraged to apply and if suitable, you will have the opportunity to have a discussion with the hiring manager directly over the phone, who can provide more detail and an insight into life working in a prison.To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Proven experience in Painting & Decorating with the ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills effectively.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications in Painting & Decorating.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, CET) or assessor qualification is desirable.
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching and/or assessor qualification if not already held.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tools, materials, and administrative tasks efficiently.
