Are you a qualified children services social worker that has L&D experience? Are you an individual that loves to improve family life, and protect the well-being of children? We are looking for a passionate worker to join the Child Services team in Midlothian, and someone who is committed to ensuring the best outcomes for children. This job contract offers a minimum of 3 months work and a competitive rate of up to £37 per hour.Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • To be responsible for the overall management of the assessment and care management service for children with learning disabilities.
  • To be responsible for providing information to ensure effective budget setting, and for managing and purchasing budgets for learning disabled children, and to be responsible for the oversight and coordination of the overall learning disabilities budget.
  • To manage a multi-professional health and social work group in accordance with NHS and Midlothian Council policies and practice, and in line with professional standards and requirements.
  • To manage multi-disciplinary locality teams and be responsible for the overall management of directly provided services for children with learning disabilities.
  • To manage the commissioning team, more recently referred to as the supporting living development team, in delivering changes to care management practice
Job requirements:
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Child and Families, L&D exp
  • Member of the Scotland Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Member of the PVG scheme
  • The ability to work independently, and show excellent organisational skills
