Estate Management AssistantStetchworth Estate Farms is a family owned rural estate on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border. The in-hand farming operation covers 3,250 acres of combineable cropping, sugar beet and let vegetable land, plus extensive Stewardship commitments and 500 acres of actively managed woodland. In addition there is a range of let commercial and residential property.The business now seeks an Estate Management Assistant to work with the Estate & Farms Director across all aspects of the farming, residential and commercial property enterprises.This is a supporting role where the successful applicant will be fully plugged in to the day-to-day running of a demanding, diverse business. The role will demand excellent professionalism, self-motivation and punctuality as well as a can-do attitude and a willingness to exercise judgement and engage at every level of the business.It is anticipated that this opportunity would suit someone at an early stage in their estate management career who aspires to a future leadership position. The partners see this opportunity as a formative role for someone who wishes to equip themselves with practical hands-on experience of a rural estate before perhaps specialising in farm management or rural surveying.The role requires someone with a good grounding in arable farming who can demonstrate problem-solving skills, excellent team work and a positive but modest attitude.The role provides an opportunity for someone to grow their skills in practical farming and property maintenance, while being part of the management team and learning basic management and leadership skills.
