Location: Manchester (Secondary School) Start Date: September 2025 Pay: £89-£105 per day (depending on experience) Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary Secondary Teaching Assistant - ADHD Support Role Are you passionate about helping teenagers reach their potential-even when focus and attention don't come easily? We're seeking a committed and empathetic Teaching Assistant to support secondary students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a Manchester school. These students benefit from structure, clear expectations, and a supportive adult who understands that restlessness, impulsivity, and distraction can be managed-and even harnessed-positively. Your Role Will Involve: Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to help students stay focused and on task Supporting smooth transitions between lessons using visual cues, prompts, and time reminders Encouraging positive behaviours through consistent feedback and structured praise Building trust with students who may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or misunderstood Supporting strategies like movement breaks, flexible seating, or calming routines Working closely with teaching staff to create inclusive and responsive classroom environments What We're Looking For: Experience working with students with ADHD or similar attention-related needs A calm, patient, and proactive personality who understands behaviour as communication Confidence in using tools such as visual schedules, fidget resources, or sensory regulation strategies Ability to notice early signs of distress or overload and offer supportive interventions Knowledge of ADHD-informed practice or training (not essential but highly valued) Why Join Us?
