This is a unique opportunity to support Our NHS ensuring the security of people and property on our sites. Our department provides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust's security systems and infrastructure.The role is critical to the Security and Car Parking Department's maintenance support service. As a demanding and varied role, it covers a range of security principles and services.The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of security related services across all parts of the Trust's facilities. Be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality and safety of the Patients, Public, Staff and Trust's healthcare facilities. As such you will have the opportunity to further develop through the apprenticeship scheme and specialist training opportunities.The successful candidate will be required to work across the Trust Sites. However, you will mainly be based at Scarborough or York Hospital.Main duties of the jobYour main working schedule will be 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. but occasional out of hours works maybe requested for safety compliance or contingency planning.
  • Assist with the installation of New VSS / CCTV Systems. Undertake Preventative and Corrective maintenance of Physical Security Systems.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance, compliance and assist managing the administration on Security asset software (i.e. Video Management System, Digital Evidence Management System, Server Management Software,
  • Assist with subject matter expertise in planning and design of Security Systems; in line with the system purpose and legislation requirements.
  • Provide Audits of Security Systems Compliances
  • Assist and oversee data handling processes relating to CCTV/VSS data requests
  • Provide induction training to licenced CCTV Operators with the Video Management System and Body Worn Video System

  • Be able to complete risk assessment, method statement and safe systems of work prior to undertaking maintenance tasks in accordance with NHS H&S policies / HTMs.

  • Current and valid SIA, CCTV licence
  • Knowledge of video management infrastructure.
  • Level 3 installation and Structured network cabling.
  • Experience of working in a maintenance environment in a public sector organisation.
Skills and AbilitiesEssential
  • I can use my own initiative, exercise judgment, resolve problems and stay calm under pressure
  • I hold a current valid Full UK driving licence
  • I am computer literate (Excel or similar)
