As part of LCL you will be encouraged to share your skills to help drive the organisation to success.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic workforce within the Department of Haematology and Transfusion based at the Royal site of Liverpool Clinical Laboratories. This busy department operates 24 hours, is well equipped with modern automation and processes more than 470000 samples per annum.The post holder will be working under Agenda for Change terms and conditions, on a shift pattern covering Monday - Friday and some weekend hours.Main duties of the jobIn this role you will support the day-to-day activities of the Haematology and Transfusion Laboratories working under the direction of qualified staff, as part of the pathology team. You will process clinical specimens for biological testing and associated supporting functions. You will also perform maintenance on instruments, running internal QC as per section policy and bring outliers to the attention of Biomedical Scientists. The role also requires the post holder to undertake relevant unsupervised housekeeping laboratory duties in a timely and efficient manner as directed by departmental policy.
