
Pathology Operations Coordinator - Evening Shift

- All aspects associated with digital scanning duties for both Histology and Cytology cases. involving cleaning of slides, loading of scanners, archiving of all glass slides and pathology digital support i.e. rescans, assigning cases etc.
- Ensure the accurate and timely validation and release of non-interpreted results (left over from the day shift) requiring manual authorization to UK customers.
- To liaise with pathologists working from NA reading UK cases after the UK pathology shift has finished.
- Coordinate the pathology audits and support the Supervisor/Head of Department in the preparation of the departmental quality documentation relevant to UKAS accreditation.
- To make sure all duties to be completed by end of shift each day and communicate appropriately for the person on shift the following morning.
- Answer and handle, emails, and faxes related to customer issues originated from Customer Support, Pathologists, or other internal clients.
- To handle any live view queries in Novopath and assign cases to pathologists where necessary.
- May occasionally be responsible for packing up and shipping cytology cases to off-site pathologists, assigning all onsite pathology work.
- Responsible for general lab maintenance and overall cleanliness of lab and lab equipment
- Supports and maintains various processes, systems and databases
- Performs recordkeeping, data collection and analysis
- Performs administrative duties such as answering phones and preparing parcel deliveries, files requisitions, and performs duties in support of billing, pricing and sample transportation
- High School degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 1-2 yrs Laboratory experience preferred but not essential.
- Must be reliable – attendance is an essential function of the position, this role is for our evening shift worker so when trained will be working largely alone, a great degree of trust and confidence is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), material safety data sheets (MSDSs), operating and maintenance instructions, government rules and technical procedures

- Good computer skills: Microsoft Office and SAP preferred
- The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:30pm
