You will be joining a company with an experienced leadership team and a supportive, collaborative working environment.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client's commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects involving structural alterations, demolition, steel frame installation, and groundworks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reporting to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and profitably.Key Responsibilities:
  • Help preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for structural works projects
  • Help with measurement and valuation of variations and claims
  • Commercial management including tender preparation, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations
  • Contract administration and ensuring compliance with contract terms
  • Risk management and cost control throughout project lifecycles
  • Liaison with project managers, site teams, clients, and suppliers to support successful project delivery
  • Preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and regular financial reporting
  • Supporting health, safety, quality, and sustainability initiatives in line with company standards
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles
  • Ability to work effectively in complex urban environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software for measurement and reporting
  • Experience working as an assistant QS with a main contractor
