There is an exciting opportunity to join the Urology Nursing Service in our brand new recently refurbished Urology Centre at Kettering General Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional who is already an experienced urology nurse who has a keen interest in working with an established team to join us on our exciting journey to further develop and shape the future of the Urology Department.Part time hours or job share will be considered.Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the assessment, management, and evaluation of treatment/ and/or care for a caseload of patients. The postholder will have responsibility for providing specialist advice and management for individuals with bladder dysfunction, based on an advanced knowledge. This will be by direct patient care, providing advice and education to patients as well as advice for carers and healthcare personnel. He/She will take responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the service. The post holder will influence the positive experience of patients and carers living with urological disease by working with the multi disciplinary team across the Trust and acting as the patients key worker. The post holder will promote safe, competent and evidence- based practice, in line with national objectives and within the clinical governance framework.The post-holder will undertake nurse led clinics in line with identified protocols and clinical guidance. The list of clinics could include but not limited to: Lower Urinary Tract Symptom (LUTS) assessment Bladder instillations Trial without catheter / insertions / and changes Teaching of intermittent self catheterisation / dilatation Uroflometry and Urodynamic Testing Urology Andrology / Erectile Dysfunction Flexible cystoscopy & local anaesthetic intravesical BotoxAbout usKettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest employers in the area and we are on an exciting journey.
