Due to the expansion of our established pharmacy team we are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician. The role is part time of 30 hrs per week, split across the week and will need to incorporate our business hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm.The successful candidate will be passionate and enthusiastic, well organised, highly motivated and skilled in their role, who will work under the supervision of our Clinical Pharmacists, within their scope of practice. Supporting the practice with improvements to maximise safe, cost effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care within the practice & PCN.You will support all aspects of medicines management within the practice, including medication reviews and medicines reconciliation. The practiceis part of Retford & Villages PCN, the role will be employed by Retford & Villages PCN via Fidelium Health (FHL), the position is fully embedded, and HR Management will be at Crown House Surgery. Your contract of employment will align with the policies and procedures of this practice.The practice has a wide multidisciplinary team, with a nursing team with expertise in chronic disease and treatment room skills and other Allied Health Professionals including Clinical Pharmacists, two other Pharmacy Technicians and a Social Prescriber.We are committed to delivering high quality care with a focus on continuity.   • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Successful completion or working towards the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway - enrolment of the course can be undertaken at the start of employment if not already completed or currently being undertaken.
  • Good clinical IT system knowledge
Desirable
  • Knowledge of other IT systems, including ability to use word processing skills, emails and the internet based applications.
ExperienceEssential
  • Experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician
  • Understanding of prescribing and medicines management issues
  • Good clinical pharmaceutical knowledge including terminology
  • An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies to improve prescribing
  • Ability to listen, empathise with people and provide person centred support in a non-judgemental way
  • Able to get along with people from all backgrounds and communities, respecting lifestyles and diversity
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times
  • Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and to promote collaborative practice with all colleagues
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Commitment to reducing health inequalities and proactively working to reach people from all communities.
