Contract Type: PermanentHours: 37 per weekThis is an exciting time on the Isle of Wight within Adult Social Care, the whole service having supported a redesign that enhances strength-based practice, working with the community and our third sector partners.We are seeking to recruit be an enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate individual, to join the Access and Wellbeing Hub as a Social Worker, whose main role will be triaged to safeguarding concerns.As a qualified Social Worker, you will hold relevant qualification, skills, and experience to manage a variety and complex caseload and balance the needs of the person and service. You will have good communication and relationship building skills and fully recognise the importance of ensuring that the voice of those we support is heard. You will share our ambitions, passion, and can-do attitude to enable individuals to be protected and free from harm and abuse and live a fulfilling live where their wellbeing is promoted.The role will sit in our new Wellbeing and Access Hub within the Local Authority Adult Social Care department. This is a newly designed team within our service who will be responsible for the first point of contact to all queries and safeguarding concerns raised to Adult Social Care. This role will give focus to the triage of safeguarding concerns and therefore experience in safeguarding work is essential along with wider understanding of Adult Social Care.You will work as part of a team to triage and assess safeguarding concerns received to the Locality Authority in accordance with the S.42 threshold and safeguarding duties under the Care Act 2014. To fulfil this duty you will work alongside, individuals, their families and/or advocates and partner agencies to coordinate, gather and assess information relevant to the concerns. This will involve gathering information from involved parties, reviewing records, and establishing the individuals making safeguarding personal outcomes, to support the triangulation of information to make evidenced informed decisions regarding the outcome of the safeguarding referral received. Your role will heavily be the duty function of the triage of the concerns but on occasions you may be required to undertake duty visits, attend safeguarding meetings, and complete immediate safety planning with individuals.You will hold professional curiosity and be able to formulate evidence informed decisions and demonstrate this through the work you complete.You will benefit from a unique and enriching environment within an organisation that values strong leadership, a good work life balance, quality management and reflective supervision. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Data Protection Act and evidence of ability to work to practice guidance/procedure. You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours (OOH) stand-by duty rota as and when requested by management on an occasional basis.PLEASE NOTE: Out of Hours Standby and Call OutYou will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Stand-by Duty Rota as and when requested by management.
