Kent County Council are looking to recruit an experienced Commissioner to join the Integrated Commissioning Team.This role is on a fixed term basis for up to 2 years, and will play an important part in ensuring that commissioning activities undertaken by the local authority are evidence based and provide value for money via an agreed commissioning plan that meets the needs of Kent residents.This role will include the development, delivery, and transformation of substance misuse services across Kent and is pivotal in shaping services that improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities affected by drug and alcohol use.You will bring:
  • Proven experience in commissioning or managing substance misuse services.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.
  • Excellent partnership working and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate data into action.
  • Experience in successfully managing complex projects and the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed approaches.
You will work closely with the Senior Commissioner and the Commercial and Procurement team to ensure key processes are followed and service priorities met.This role is hybrid: working from home with an element of office working in Maidstone or other local council offices.
